I never really understood the encounters I had with Jesus as a little girl. Before I turned 12, my mom was Buddhist and my father was atheist. I had no church life and attended public school. How then did I know to call on His name in the darkness? How then did I feel His presence and His love comfort me?
My dad recently came back from a trip to China. He flew out a few days after I drove to Kansas City to join staff at YWAM. To be honest, he and my mom weren't very happy that God was calling their only daughter back into full-time missions.
Yesterday, I was finally able to update him on all the amazing things God has prepared for me and what I've been doing during my time here so far.
He responded this morning with a text.
"Did I ever tell you that my aunt, my dad's elder sister, she was a very faithful full time evangelist lived in church. U probably has some of her blood. I don't know what to say but pray for you. It's difficult for me. I'll say hallelujah if someone else daughter to do ur work. I'm a hypocrite."
I've always thought that I was a first-generation Christian, so I was extremely surprised to find out I'm actually a 3rd-generation Christian. I wholeheartedly believe in generational blessings and always felt a little bittersweet that I did not have one. This is why I view this news as such an exciting gift from God! It feels like I finally got a piece of the puzzle today. Thank you, grandaunt, for your faithfulness. I believe it's what's kept me as a young girl and will continue to bless me on my journey now that I know the good and perfect Father. I can't wait to meet you in Heaven.
